Fifteen To One

Family honour was maintained in Series Two of Channel 4's Fifteen to One when Dot Heyes emulated her husband Arthur's feat in Series One by reaching the final round in the show

Fifteen To One

Arthur Heyes

The Wheatsheaf's Arthur Heyes appeared on the new series of Fifteen-To-One in April, narrowly missing out on a Grand Final appearance on a tie-break.

Alan Gibbs (Wheatsheaf) appeared on Sky Atlantic's new quiz 'Cleverdicks' on Tuesday February 28th.

He won Round 1 with 21 points and Round 2 with 25 points, but lost in a head to head Round 3 to returning winner Rob Hannah.

Two more Ormskirk players appeared in week 2 of Cleverdicks.

Madeline Evans (Unison) reached Round 2 on Episode 9.

Andy Page (Old Dog) won on Episode 10 beating former Brain of Britain Iwan Thomas in the final.

Unfortunately he did not win any money.

Squigglers on Eggheads

Three regular members of the Squigglers team took on the Eggheads recently - namely Brian Fitton (orange shirt), Eric Ray (greeen shirt) and Magnus Brass (yellow shirt). On the left is Alan Crompton, Janet's brother) who has also played for the team. Eric was the only winner of a head-to-head beating Judith Keppel on Film & TV. Alan and Eric at the end drew 3-3 on General Knowledge before failing in 'sudden death' to win the £15,000 rollover.

Mastermind Champion of Champions

Congratulations to Pat Gibson (Old Dog) who in August 2010 won the battle for the ultimate title, Mastermind Champion of Champions.
Sixteen past champions including Andy Page (also Old Dog) participated in the event,

In their heats Pat took 'Pixar Animated Films' and Andy answered questions on the TV series 'Arrested Development'. Both heats produced close finishes - Andy was beaten by a single point but Pat progressed to the final with fewer passes.

In the final Pat scored 16 points on 'Great Mathematicians' to trail by one point at the halway stage. Adding a further 20 on general knowledge he finished level with Jesse Honey but once again triumphed by virtue of taking no passes.
