Newburgh Lions remain top and unbeaten after their win over Turks Head Saints, who slip from second place; Jim Maloney (19) and Darren Martin (15) top scored fro the winners while Charles Johnson added 14 to the Saints’ score. In a close game Colly Wobblers, for whom Roy Atherton scored 14 and Andy McGowan 12, edged past Greyhound; Brian Farrimond and Ritchie Venner both scored 12 for Greyhound. 20 points from Gordon Richards assured Ormskirk Theatre Company’s victory over Benchwarmers. Despite 16 points from Tom Evans and 13 from Mike Preston, Delph Tavern lost by the narrowest of margins to Rugby Hounds, for whom Eric Lupton scored 21 (highest score of the week) and David Hodgson 13. Barry Marshall (15), Magnus Brass (14) and Janet Crompton (12) led the scoring for Scarecrows who overcame Helenians. The results of these games were unaltered when handicaps were applied. Turks Head Sinners move into second place after their win over Hayfield Gang; Dave Waddilove (19) and Bill Gerrard (16) top scored for the winners, while Rob Jones added 12 to the Gang’s score. The result was reversed on handicap however.
