In a very close game, Turks Head Sinners, thanks to 13 points from Bill Gerrard and 12 from Francis Williams, beat Rugby Hounds, for whom Tony Robinson scored 12 and David Hodgson 16. 12 points from Steve Feller and 17 from Mike Unsworth enabled Colly Wobblers’ win over the returning Benchwarmers. The Delph Tavern, thanks to 16 points from Paul McAteer and 13 from Tom Evans, overcame Ormskirk Theatre Company, for whom Gordon Richards scored 14. An outstanding 22 points from Barry Marshall and 12 from Roy Boydell assured Scarecrows’ victory over Hayfield Gang, for whom Matt Cochrane scored 17. An excellent 20 points from Darren Martin and 13 from Gareth Flynn earned Newburgh Lions a win over Helenians, for whom Mike Flaherty scored 12. 16 points from John Wilson and 14 from Brian Farrimond saw Greyhound winning against Turks Head Saints, for whom Clive Walton scored 14.
When handicaps were added all six matches produced reversed results, four by three points or fewer.

Congratulations to Turks Head Saints who won the MQL Rendon Cup for first and second finishers in Division 2 across the MQL Leagues.
In the semi-final, despite losing Round 1 by 10 points to 1 against Aardvarks (Wirral) the scores were level at half time and a victory was achieved 49-44. Charles Johnson scored 20 points and Barbara Flaherty 14.
The Final against Exiles (Liverpool) was close throughout and the scores were tied at 40-40 after Round 8. The first extra round was won by a single point to produce a final score of 45-44. Charles Johnson again scored 20 points.
The Cup will be presented on May 15 at the MQL Presentation Night in Warrington.

Two Ormskirk teams played in round-robin groups. Newburgh Lions beat Soapsuds (Wirral) 53-30 in which Darren Martin scored an incredible 31 points including a full house answering all his own questions. They lost 30-41 to Kluggers (Liverpool) who qualify for the semi-finals due to a narrow loss in their other match.
Turks Head Sinners lost both matches, 22-39 to Oxton Cons (Wirral) and 40-51 to Ringers (Warrington). Peter Duffy scored 16 in the first match and 17 in the second match.
