Presentation Night

The new Function Room at the Stanley Arms in Aughton was the venue for this season's Presentation Night which began with three handouts of picture quizzes. Thirty players who chose to play in the Pairs Competition were divided into two pools based on average scores over the season. One name was drawn from each pool to form fifteen pairs. The first round of 40 questions were read out and the pairs wrote down their answers.

The top six pairs who all scored 30 or more qualified for the semi final. They were Pat Gibson (Colly Wobblers) and Kevin Walton (Turks Head Saints), Bill Gerrard (Turks Head Sinners) and Roy Atherton (Colly Wobblers), Charles Johnson (Turks Head Saints) and Gordon Richards (Ormskirk Theatre Company), Andy McGowan (Colly Wobblers) and Alf Westwell (Helenians), Paul McAteer (Delph Tavern) and Peter Jones(Scarecrows), Darren Martin (Newburgh Lions) and Tony Robinson (Rugby Hounds).

Questions were asked in turn to the pairs who each had three 'lives'. After 60 questions the three finalists were Pat and Kevin, Andy and Alf and Darren and Tony.

Each pair had their 'lives' reset to three. After 27 questions Pat and Kevin emerged as winners.

Trophies were presented to successful teams. Photos are here.

A raffle raised £82.65 for Age UK Lancashire.

Thanks to everyone for an enjoyable evening and to the Stanley Arms for hosting.
