Division 1 :- Unison retain top spot after a comfortable win over Newburgh Lions; Charles Johnson (17) and Darren Martin (16) scored well for the winners while David Sinclair added 15 to Newburgh’s score. Turks Head Sinners are in second place after their win over Rugby Hounds; Bill Gerrard scored an impressive 21 points for the winners. 18 points from Paul McAteer helped Robin Hood overcome Scarecrows. An excellent 21 points and a full house from John Wilson earned Greyhound the narrowest of victories over Colly Wobblers, for whom Andy McGowan scored 16.
Division 2 :- Ormskirk Tennis Club lost their first game of the season so far, going down to Hayfield Gang and as a result relinquish top spot to Turks Head Saints. Turks Head Saints remain unbeaten after their win over Benchwarmers; Kevin Walton (16) and Barbara Flaherty (14) top scored for the winners. 18 points from Jim Dawber earned Bispham Eagles their first win of the season by beating Aughton Institute. Helenians drew with Ormskirk Theatre Company; Alan Thompson (14) top scored for the Theatre Company and Bob Foster (12) did likewise for Helenians.

Three Ormskirk teams have entered. They are placed in different groups for the round robin stage.
Colly Wobblers beat Bishop Eton (Liverpool) 47-37 with 20 points from Pat Gibson. Unison began the defence of the Cup with a defeat 41-44 by Oxton Cons (Wirral) despite 15 from Darren Martin. Greyhound were also beaten in a close match by Cricketers (Liverpool) 46-48 with John Wilson scoring 19.
The next matches are on November 9.

Division 1 :- In a high scoring game Scarecrows, thanks to 18 from Barry Marshall, beat Rugby Hounds by a single point; Colin MacDonald (16) and Eric Lupton (17) scored well for Rugby Hounds. A massive 29 points and full house from David Sinclair wasn’t enough for Newburgh Lions, who only fielded two players, losing to Turks Head Sinners for whom Peter Duffy top scored with 16. Despite 15 points from Tom Evans, Robin Hood lost to Colly Wobblers, for whom Mike Unsworth scored 17. 15 points from Mal Collier helped Greyhound to a win over Unison, who lost their first match of the season but remain top.
Division 2 :- Ormskirk Tennis Club maintained their 100% record by beating Helenians; Paul Prior registered 18 points for the winners while Bob Foster and Mike Flaherty both scored 12 for Helenians. 14 points from Mark Taylor and 13 from Eila Wall helped Benchwarmers to a victory over Hayfield Gang, for whom Martin Burke scored 15 and Rob Jones 17. 15 points from Mike Critchley and 12 from Barbara Flaherty were significant contributions to Turks Head Saints win over Aughton Institute. In the other game Bispham Eagles lost to Ormskirk Theatre Company.

Ormskirk began the defence of the Trophy with two wins. In the first match Warrington were beaten 61-27 with John Wilson and Pat Gibson(both 17) and Gary Grant (16) scoring highly. The second match, against Liverpool, was very close until round 7. Ormskirk won 52-45 with Pat Gibson (17) and John Wilson (15) again scoring well.
