Division 1 :- In the top of the table clash Greyhound, despite an impressive 24 points from John Wilson, lost to Unison, for whom Darren Martin scored17; as a result Greyhound remain 4 points clear but Unison have a game in hand. 15 points from David Sinclair helped Newburgh Lions to a win over Turks Head Sinners, for whom Peter Duffy scored 17. Rugby Hounds had a much needed win over Colly Wobblers but still remain bottom of the table. In the other game Robin Hood drew with Scarecrows and remain in third place.
Division 2 :- It’s very tight at the top of Division 2. Turks Head Saints are still one point clear of Ormskirk Tennis Club. Turks Head Saints, thanks to 16 points from Kevin Walton, overcame Benchwarmers, for whom Rob Green scored 18. Ormskirk Tennis Club had a comfortable win over Aughton Institute with Paul Prior scoring 16 for the winners. Helenians won the day against Hayfield Gang; Mike Flaherty (16) and Bob Foster (14) scored well for the winners while Rob Jones (17) and Martin Burke (12) did likewise for Hayfield.

Ormskirk won both matches last night, coming from behind against Warrington 50-45 and more comfortably against Wirral 51-35. Pat Gibson scored 21 then 25, with a moral full house in each (seven of his own questions correctly answered with one unanswered by anyone (X)).

Division 1: Greyhound remain top after an away win at Newburgh Lions, John Wilson scoring 16. Jim Maloney with 16 and David Sinclair with 15 were the Lions' leading scorers. Unison beat Robin Hood by one point led by Charles Johnson with 15. Bill Gerrard and Francis Williams both scored 15 for Turks Head Sinners who overcome an eight-point deficit at the end of Round 5 to beat Rugby Hounds by six points. In the other match Scarecrows beat Colly Wobblers.
Division 2: Turks Head Saints still lead after a victory over Aughton Institute. Kevin Walton scored 19 for Saints and Ian Bakewell 15 for the Institute. Ormskirk Tennis Club remain one point behind after a win against Hayfield Gang at a new venue, the Yew Tree in Ormskirk. Paul Prior led the way with 17 for the victors supported by Sarah Lawton with 12. Helenians, who welcomed back League Chairman Dave Boyd after a long absence beat Bispham Eagles, with 13 from Mike Flaherty. Gordon Richards' 13 points helped Ormskirk Theatre Company beat Benchwarmers. In a rearrnged match from October Helenians again beat Bispham Eagles, with 13 each from Alf Westwell and Dave Boyd.

Ormskirk won both matches last night and head the table with one round of matches to play. Three teams can still win the Shield. In the first match Liverpool 2b were beaten 55-42. All four players achieved double digit scores headed by Peter Duffy with 16. In the second match Warrington were beaten 39-33.

Division 1 :- A significant contribution of 19 points including a full house from John Wilson enabled Greyhound’s win over Rugby Hounds, for whom David Hodgson scored 16; as a result Greyhound remain top. High scoring from Darren Martin (23) and Charles Johnson (17) ensured Unison a comfortable win over Scarecows, for whom Janet Crompton scored 18 and Barry Marshall 16; Unison remain in second. Despite 16 points from Jim Maloney, Newburgh Lions lost to Robin Hood, all of whose players scored in double figures. Bill Gerrard’s 21 points wasn’t quite enough to earn Turks Head Sinners a win over Colly Wobblers, for whom Mike Unsworth scored 19 and Andy McGowan 15.
Division 2 :- Despite 20 points from Gordon Richards Ormskirk Theatre Company lost to Turks Head Saints, for whom Kevin Walton scored 16; as a result the Saints remain top by a single point. Ormskirk Tennis Club remain second after their win over Bispham Eagles; Sarah Lawton scored 16 for the winners. 18 points from Mike Flaherty earned Helenians a win over Benchwarmers. In the other game Aughton Institute beat Hayfield Gang, with Dave Berrington scoring 20 for the winners and Rob Jones adding 12 to the Hayfield's total.
