Highlights Week 12

Division 1:- Unison regained the leader’s slot after two victories over Robin Hood, Darren Martin led the scoring with 20 points in the first game and a remarkable 25 in the second.   16 points from David Hodgson was the main contribution to Rugby Hounds win over Abbey Saints.  Despite 16 from Jim Maloney, Newburgh Lions lost to Squigglers. Pat Gibson’s  21 points was enough for Colly Wobblers to beat a depleted Helenians team for whom Dave Boyd scored 16.

Division 2:- Whippet remain top after their win over Aughton Institute.  Alan Thompson’s 15 points wasn’t enough for Ormskirk Theatre Company to secure a victory over Ormskirk Tennis Club. In a low scoring game, Gang of Four beat OCC. Benchwarmers  ended Red Lion Bulldogs winning run with the narrowest of wins.

President's Trophy

Ormskirk won both games against Southport & Formby to move four points clear at the top of the table. John Wilson scored 15 points in a 47-32 win in the scheduled game. The rearranged game was much closer with a 38-36 score line.

Highlights Week 11

Division 1:-  Greyhound take over at the top of the table after beating Unison; John Wilson scored 20 points for Greyhound and Darren Martin 18 for Unison.  Janet Crompton’s 22 points was vital in their narrow victory over Helenians for whom Mike Flaherty scored 19. Robin Hood beat  Abbey Saints, Roy Atherton scoring 16 for the Robin and Barbara Flaherty 18 for the Saints.   In spite of 21 from Eric Lupton and 15 from David Hodgson Rugby Hounds lost to Colly Wobblers, for whom Pat Gibson scored 19.

Division 2:- Whippet stay top after their victory over Ormskirk Theatre Company, Gordon Richards scoring 18 for the winners.  17 points from Sarah Lawton helped Ormskirk Tennis Club overcome OCC in a postponed game.  Red Lion Bulldogs excellent season continued with a win over Parbold Exiles, Steve Garrett scoring an impressive 22 for the Bulldogs. In spite of 15 points from Rob Green Benchwarmers lost to Gang of Four who stay second.

Highlights Week 10

Division 1:- An outstanding 24 points and ‘full house’ from Roy Atherton and 16 from Sue Perks saw Robin Hood thrash Colly Wobblers. All of Rugby Hounds players registered double figure scores in their win over Helenians; Eric Lupton (17), Bruce Covey (15) and Colin McDonald (15) were the leading scorers for Rugby Hounds.  Despite 21 points from Bill Gerrard, Abbey Sinners lost to Unison for whom Darren Martin scored 19; as a result Unison move to the top of the table.  Greyhound beat Abbey Saints; John Wilson top scoring with 21 points.

Division 2:- 18 points from Adrian Disley ensured Red Lion Bulldogs’ victory over Ormskirk Tennis Club.  In the other games Gang of Four beat Ormskirk Farmers, OCC beat Aughton Institute and Benchwarmers won the day over Parbold Exiles.
