Ormskirk lost their unbeaten record when Southport and Formby won the match by 47 points to 39, despite a score if 16 from Pat Gibson. Ormskirk are now in third place in the table on points difference.

Charity Presentation

Merseyside Challenge Cup

In the first group matches all three Ormskirk teams were victorious. Unison beat Exiles from Liverpool by 42 points to 22, Darren Martin contributing 16. Colly Wobblers beat Wandering Star from Liverpool by 38 points to 15. Abbey Sinners, making their debut in the competition, beat Woodlands from Warrington by 36 points to 24.

Highlights Week 5

Division 1:- In the top of the table clash Unison move to number one after beating Rugby Hounds, thanks to 16 from Darren Martin.  Pat Gibson’s 23 points assured Colly Wobblers’ win over Squigglers. Newburgh Lions beat Robin Hood; Jim Maloney scored 18 for the winners and Roy Atherton 15 for the losers. 16 from Mal Collier and 15 from John Wilson helped Greyhound overcome Whippet.  In the other game Abbey Sinners secured their first win by beating Helenians. 

Division 2:- Gang of Four remain top after beating Benchwarmers; Mal Jones scored 17 for the winners. 20 points from Barbara Flaherty greatly helped Abbey Sinners overcome OCC. Ormskirk Tennis Club won the day over Parbold Exiles thanks to 18 from Paul Prior.  In the other games Legion Lions achieved their first win beating Ormskirk Farmers and Ormskirk Theatre Company won against  Aughton Institute. 

Highlights Week 4

Division 1:- 20 points each from Eric Lupton and David Hodgson ensured Rugby Hounds a comfortable win over Helenians; Rugby Hounds remain top of the table.  Newburgh Lions had a much closer victory over Abbey Sinners thanks to 17 points from Jim Maloney; Bill Gerrard replied with 15 for the losing team.  Despite 20 points from Janet Crompton, Squigglers lost to Robin Hood. An impressive 21 points from John Wilson greatly helped Greyhound overcome Colly Wobblers for whom Pat Gibson scored 17.  21 from Darren Martin and 18 from Alan Gibbs ensured a comfortable victory for Unison over Whippet

Division 2:- Gang of Four ended  Parbold Exiles’ winning run and remain at the top.    Abbey Saints move into second place after their win over Ormskirk Tennis Club; all four Abbey players registered double figure scores.  Alan Thompson’s 18 points assured Ormskirk Theatre Company’s victory over Legion Lions. Ormskirk Farmers had the narrowest of wins over Benchwarmers.
