The first two rounds took place last night. All six Ormskirk players finished in the first two places in their heat in Round 1, so qualifying for Round 2, a feat double that of any other League.
Alan Gibbs, Darren Martin and John Wilson have qualified from Round 2 for the semi-finals next Wednesday. Hard luck to Debbie Davidson, Paul Prior and Alan Thompson who played well, but just missed out.

Congratulations to Helenians who won the Trophy 52-42 against Turks Head Sinners who were unable to overcome a 7 point start. Mike Flaherty scored 17 points for Helenians and Bill Gerrard 23 points for Sinners. This is Helenians first win after being runner-up in 1980 and 1994.
Congratulations also to Turks Head Saints who beat a depleted Benchwarmers 61-38 to win the Plate thanks to sizeable contributions from Kevin Walton (17), Mike Critchley and Barbara Flaherty (both 15). This is the team's second win, firstly as Abbey Saints in 2018.
Thanks to the neutral officials who gave up their evening.

13 players entered the MIMIR individual competition played at The Greyhound tonight. Darren Martin emerged as the winner, so congratulations to him. Runners up in the final were John Wilson and Alan Gibbs two points behind with Eric Lupton in fourth place. These four plus Charles Johnson and Debbie Davidson progress to the Merseyside MIMIR finals in a week's time. Thanks to all those who attended for their help in officiating the games. Turks Head Sinners overcame their 12 point handicap against Hayfield in Round 5 with Bill Gerrard contributing 25 points. In the final they will meet Helenians who beat Bispham Farmers Arms, Dave Boyd scoring 19 for the winners.
In the Plate, despite a massive contribution of 28 points from Paul Prior, Ormskirk Tennis Club were beaten by Benchwarmers. Barbara Flaherty scored 19 for Turks Head Saints as they beat Rugby Hounds despite 17 from Eric Lupton.
The finals will be played on Monday April 25.
