Highlights Week 19

Division 1:- Old Dog stay top after beating Squigglers thanks to 17 from John Wilson, Janet Crompton scoring 20 for Squigglers. Unison (with only 3 players) kept second place with a win over Ormskirk Tennis Club with Darren Martin scoring 27 for Unison; Paul Prior contributed 18 for the Tennis Club.  Wheatsheaf beat Farmers Arms thanks to 20 from Alan Gibbs. Greyhound kept 3rd place with a win over 3 man Helenians thanks to 17 from Andy Francis. Rugby Hounds continued their revival with a win over Robin Hood; David Hodgson scored 16 for the winners as did Sue Perks for the losers. 

Division 2 :- The top two met with Newburgh Lions emerging victorious over Abbey Saints but stay second with a game in hand; Jim Maloney scored 16 for Newburgh. In a postponed game Parbold Exiles beat bottom of the table Benchwarmers, Jim Dawber scoring 18 for the Exiles. Benchwarmers also lost their other game to Aughton Institute for whom John Hesketh scored 17. Abbey Sinners with a much changed team kept 3rd place with a win over OCC, Francis Williams scoring 16 for the winners.

MIMIR Trophy

The Ormskirk heat of the 2014 MIMIR Trophy will take place at the Greyhound in Ormskirk on Thursday February 20th. The draw will take place at 7 45 pm followed by the first matches at 8 pm.

To assist with the organisation of the event players who wish to enter are asked to email the Secretary or reply through the contact page of this website by Monday February 17th.

Spectators and offers of assistance with asking questions or scoring are most welcome.

President's Trophy

Ormskirk has retained the President's Trophy with one game still to play after completing the double over nearest rivals Southport & Formby.

HIghlights Week 18

Division 1:- At the top Old Dog beat Ormskirk Tennis Club. Unison kept second place with victory over Robin Hood thanks to 20 from Peter Duffy and 17 from Darren Martin. Wheatsheaf won the battle for 3rd place beating Greyhound, Alan Gibbs scoring 15 for the winners. Helenians remain in the relegation zone losing to Squigglers for whom Janet Crompton scored 22. Despite 17 from Charles Johnson, Farmers Arms lost to Colly Wobblers.

Division 2 :- Abbey Saints,thanks to 18 from Barbara Flaherty, maintained their lead at the top with a comfortable win over Red Lion (Burscough). Newburgh Lions stay second after their win over Parbold Exiles, Jim Maloney registering 16 for the winners. In the contest for 3rd place Whippet, this time with 4 players, beat Abbey Sinners with a good all round team performance. Ormskirk Farmers, thanks to 16 from Frank Molyneux, beat OCC. Ormskirk Theatre Company lifted themselves from the foot of the table with a win over Aughton Institute thanks to 15 from Alan Thompson

Red Lion (Burscough)

The Bull and Dog is about to close for refurbishment. Home games for Red Lion (Burscough) will be played at the Royal Oak in Aughton for the rest of the season. This will also involve a change from Monday to Tuesday.
