I am sad to report that Alan passed away on December 8th aged 83. He made his debut for Prince Albert in the 1984 Charity League and played regularly from the following season when the team won promotion and reached the final of the Handicap Knockout, losing to Ropers Arms by two points. He won the Ormskirk MIMIR Trophy in 1991. On retiring from teaching he moved to Heversham and joined the Kendal Quiz League.
