I am sorry to report the death of Eric Moore, a founding member of the team in 1984 when they were West Lancs SDP. He played until the start of this season. Team secretaries have the funeral arrangements.

Division 1:- Greyhound remain top after their win over Newburgh Lions; John Wilson scored 20 for the winners and Jim Maloney 16 for Newburgh. 21 points from Darren Martin and 17 from Dave Kenrick, ensured Unison’s victory over Rugby Hounds, for whom Eric Lupton scored 17. 20 points from Mike Unsworth helped Colly Wobblers to a win over Squigglers for whom Barry Marshall scored 16. Ormskirk Tennis Club, thanks to 19 from Paul Prior, won the day against Robin Hood. Despite 16 points from Brian Yates, Whippet lost narrowly to Helenians.
Division 2 :- Abbey Saints are still top on points difference, after their win over Ormskirk Farmers; Kevin Walton scored 13 for the winners. Gang of Four are in second after beating Ormskirk Theatre Company; Rob Jones contributed 14 to Gang of Four’s total and Alan Thompson 13 to the Theatre Company’s. 15 points from Mike Wall enabled Benchwarmers a win over Aughton Institute.

The final round of group matches took place last week. Greyhound beat Wings (Southport & Formby) 61-40 with John Wilson scoring 24 including a full house. The picture shows Abbey Sinners before their match against Rainhill Victoria (Liverpool) which they lost by one point 50-51. The star performer is on the right of the picture - Paul Sinha who is one of the chasers on the ITV quiz The Chase. Appearing as a guest Paul scored 25 points, also achieving a full house. The Sinners achieved their second bonus point for a narrow loss. Unison received a walkover.
Colly Wobblers, Greyhound and Unison qualify for the quarterfinals. Abbey Sinners will enter the MQL Plate.

Division 1:- An impressive 24 points from David Sinclair helped Newburgh Lions to a win over Whippet, all of whose players registered double figures scores. The win for Newburgh keeps them in third place and in touch with the top of the table for what promises to be a close finish to the season, with only five games remaining.
Division 2 :- 18 points from Rob Green allowed Benchwarmers to earn their first win of the season by beating Legion Lions for whom Steve Garrett scored 15. Ormskirk Theatre Company, thanks to an excellent 22 points from Alan Thompson overcame Aughton Institute.
