Colly Wobblers lost their first match of the season to Turks Head Sinners, for whom Peter Duffy scored16 and Bill Gerrard 12; Andy McGowan (15) and Roy Atherton (14) scored well for the losers. The handicap result remained the same. Newburgh Lions remain in second place after their victory over Hayfield Gang; Gareth Flynn (15), Jim Maloney (14) and Darren Martin (13) top scored for the winners while Matt Cochrane (15) did likewise for Hayfield. John Wilson (16), Ritchie Venner (14) and Brian Farrimond (12) helped Greyhound to a comfortable win over Benchwarmers for whom Rob Green scored 13. 16 points from Eric Lupton helped Rugby Hounds overcome Ormskirk Theatre Company. Despite 15 points from Janet Crompton and 12 from Barry Marshall, Scarecrows lost narrowly to the Delph Tavern, for whom Paul McAteer scored 14. An impressive 21 points from Charles Johnson earned Turks Head Saints a victory over Helenians. In these five matches the handicap result was reversed.
With two weeks left before the league splits into two divisions, the competition for the top six places is extremely tight with ten teams having a possibility of finishing there, and will probably be decided on points difference.

Ormskirk began their season with two very close matches. Firstly Liverpool 2B were beaten 44-41. Then came a defeat 44-46 to Wirral, with a bonus point gained for a close defeat. Eric Lupton top scored with 16.

Colly Wobblers remain top and unbeaten after their comfortable victory over Hayfield Gang; Roy Atherton (19) and Mike Unsworth (17) top scored for the winners. In the fight for second place Newburgh Lions emerged victorious over Greyhound; Darren Martin (18) and Gareth Flynn (13) scored well for the winners while Brian Farrimond (15) and Ritchie Venner (13) did likewise for Greyhound. Despite 18 points from Sue Perks and 14 from Paul McAteer, Delph Tavern lost by the narrowest of margins to Rugby Hounds, for whom David Hodgson scored 19 and Eric Lupton 14. 16 points from Gordon Richards earned Ormskirk Theatre Company a win over Benchwarmers, for whom Rob Green scored 17. In spite of 20 points from Charles Johnson, Turks Head Saints lost to Scarecrows, for whom Barry Marshall scored 20 and Janet Crompton 14. In all the above matches the results remained the same after the handicaps were applied. 14 points each from Arthur Heyes and Lee Whitehead and 12 from Tony Spark led Turks Head Sinners to victory over Helenians, for whom Dave Boyd scored 12; in this match the result was reversed on handicap.

Ormskirk won both matches on the second night. Warrington were beaten 57-46 with all four players scoring in double figures led by John Wilson and Pat Gibson with 16 and Charles Johnson 15. In the second match Wirral were beaten 52-47 with John Wilson and Pat Gibson both scoring 17.
