Handicap League Week 8

Whippet remain top after their narrow win over Squigglers; Peter Duffy scored 20 points for the winners while Janet Crompton contributed 19 to Squigglers score.   Rugby Hounds are second after their win over Ormskirk Theatre Company; 17 points from Eric Lupton helped them to make up their 5 point handicap to win by 10.  A remarkable 24 points and full house from Alan Gibbs and 15 from Darren Martin, wasn’t enough for Unison to make up Ormskirk Tennis Club’s 17 point start; Paul Prior made a significant contribution of 23 points for the winners.  Despite 21 points from Paul McAteer, Robin Hood were unable to make any headway on Gang of Four’s 5 point start.

Handicap League Week 7

Whippet regain top spot after their draw with Robin Hood, who had a 7 point start; Peter Duffy scored 17 for Whippet.  Rugby Hounds failed by a single point to catch Gang of Four’s 5 point lead and relinquish their top of the table spot to Whippet.   Colly Wobblers, for whom Gary Grant scored 19, had clawed back Ormskirk Tennis Club’s 17 point start at the end of the seventh round, but a full house by the Tennis Club saw them home; Paul Prior scored 17 for the winners. Unison overcame Ormskirk Theatre Company’s 22 point start running out winners by 4 points; top scorers for Unison were Alan Gibbs with 20 and a full house and Charles Johnson with 19.
