Mike Golden

We are sad to announce the death of Mike Golden last Monday.

Mike played for teams in Parbold for many years.

He was a very good player and good company.

The funeral is at 10 00 am on Wednesday at Our Lady's church in Parbold.

MQL Competitions 5

Ormskirk completed the double over closest rivals Southport & Formby to consolidate their position at the head of the President's Trophy table. The score of 26 points to 22 reflects the difficulty of the questions.

Highlights:- Div 1 - Wheatsheaf won both games in double-header over Squigglers to move into second place. Greyhound also won against Squigglers and Robin Hood to move into third place.
In Div 2 - Comfortable wins for Gang of Four and Ormskirk Tennis Club consolidates their positions at the top. Top score this week - 20 for Gordon Richards for Aughton Institute in their close victory over the Red Lion.

Week 13

 
Highlights : Unison won both games against Robin Hood to be joint 2nd in Division 1. There were comfortable wins for Greyhound, Helenians and Old Dog, for whom Pat Gibson scored 21points. Charles Johnson scored 20 points for Farmers Arms in their close victory over Colly Wobblers.
 
In Division 2 easy wins for Gang of Four and Ormskirk Tennis Club moves them further ahead at the top.

MQL Competitions 4

In the President's Trophy Ormskirk beat Southport & Formby by 42 points to 35 and now head the table. Pat Gibson, Ray Oakes and John Wilson all achieved double figure scores.

The final matches in the group stage of the Merseyside Challenge Cup took place this Wednesday, December 5th.

Old Dog, Unison and Wheatsheaf have qualified for the quarter finals in February.

Colly Wobblers and Greyhound will enter the quarter finals of the MQL Plate.
