Don Liptrot Trophy

The entry window for the Don Liptrot Trophy is now open until Sunday March 10th. NOW CLOSED

Entries are welcome from new teams for this handicap knockout which will be played on March 25th, April 8th and April 15th with the final on Presentation Night April 29th. Teams losing in Round 1 are entered into a Plate competition, so all teams get 2 games.

Week 20

Highlights
Div1 Unison beat Wheatsheaf comfortably to consolidate 2nd place. Farmers Arms victory over Newburgh Lions moves them up to relative safety. Janet Crompton had the top score of the season with 26 for Squigglers in their win over Helenians.
In Div 2 with high scoring in Tuesday's games, Gang of Four and Ormskirk Tennis Club both won at the top, although Ormskirk Theatre Company ran Ormskirk Tennis Club close only losing by three. Paul Prior scored 21 for Ormskirk Tennis Club. Charlie McCauley also scored 21 for Whippet. Jim Dawber scored 20 for Parbold Exiles despite losing a close game to  Red Lion (Burscough) who move further up the table.

Brain of Britain

Congratulations to Darren Martin from Unison who won the first semifinal on BBC Radio 4. He was in the lead throughout the contest, ending with 14 points, with his nearest two rivals on 11.

President's Trophy

In their final game of the season, in which the team are unbeaten, Champions elect Ormskirk beat Warrington by 45 points to 31. Leading scorers were Pat Gibson with 19 and John Wilson with 11.

Week 19

Highlights
Div 1 . Wins for top four. Helenians move up the table with their win over Farmers Arms. Top score 20 by John Wilson for Old Dog.
In Div 2 Gang of Four and Ormskirk Tennis Club both win again to pull further away at the top. Excellent win for Red Lion (Burscough) over Ormskirk Famers moves them up the table. Top scorers were Gordon Richards with 23 for Aughton Institute and Paul Prior with 22 for Ormskirk Tennis Club.
