Week 9 Highlights

 
Division 1 Monday games produced a surprise result with Squigglers beating Unison by 1 point largely due to an impressive 25 points by Janet Crompton.  Wheatsheaf had an easy win over Gang of Four with Dave Waddilove scoring 21 for Wheatsheaf. Tuesday's set favoured the teams going in first; with comfortable wins for Colly Wobblers over Rugby Hounds and Old Dog against Greyhound. Ormskirk Tennis Club came out on top against Robin Hood who are having a bad run.
 
Division 2 In the battle of the Lions, Newburgh Lions beat Red Lion (Burscough) and increased their lead at the top over Abbey Saints who had a free week. Abbey Sinners consolidated 3rd position with a comfortable win over Ormskirk Theatre Company; Bill Gerrard scoring 20 points for rhe winners. Whippet are 4th after a good team performance against OCC.

Week 8 Highlights


Division 1. The top two made light of a difficult Monday set, Old Dog thrashing Squigglers with Pat Gibson registering 20 points, and Unison overcoming Ormskirk Tennis Club with Darren Martin also scoring 20.  In closer matches there were wins for Greyhound, Wheatsheaf and Rugby Hounds. On the Tuesday set an all-round team performance saw Colly Wobblers home against Gang of Four.
 
Division 2. In the clash of the top 2, Newburgh Lions pulled away over the last couple of rounds to defeat Abbey Saints. Whippet won a close encounter with Red Lion (Burscough), with Bob Edge for Whippet and Steve Garrett for Red Lion both scoring 19 points. Ormskirk Theatre Company recorded their second win of the season beating Ormskirk Farmers who remain at the bottom.

John Wilson scored 15 and Ray Oakes scored 21.

Week 7 Highlights


Division 1  Comfortable wins for the top two.  Andy Page scored 24 for Old Dog against Ormskirk Tennis Club.  Robin Hood went down to Unison for whom Darren Martin scored 19.  Greyhound's unbeaten start ended when they lost by one point to Wheatsheaf, on the last question! Colly Wobblers move up to 4th with a narrow victory over Farmers Arms.

Division 2  Newburgh Lions remain unbeaten with a comfortable win over Parbold Exiles, Jim Maloney top scoring for the Lions with 23.  Abbey Saints remain in second place defeating Red Lion (Burscough), Kevin Walton scoring 19 for Saints.  Abbey Sinners move up to 3rd, winning a close match with Whippet.  Elsewhere, Gordon Richards scored 23 for Aughton Institute in an easy win over Ormskirk Theatre Company.
