Presentation Night

Over forty players from twelve teams saw two finals. In the Plate Unison had overcome the handicap by the end of round two. Although Abbey Sinners kept pace in the second half Unison won by 55 points to 45. In the Trophy Aughton Institute started with a six point advantage and managed to keep ahead throughout. Red Lion Bulldogs won the actual quiz by 1 point, but Aughton Institute won overall by 70 points to 65.

The trophies were presented by members of the Farmers Arms team that played in the league from the early 1970s until last season. Photos are here.

Feeny Cup

Unison are this season's Feeny Cup winners, having triumphed in a very closely-fought three way final played at St Joseph's Club in Warrington this week. They also won this Cup in 2011.

Presentation Night

The Presentation Night will be at Unison Club in St Helens on Monday May 9th from 8 30 pm.

Plate          Unison (0) v Abbey Sinners (12)

There will be a table quiz, a raffle and refreshments.

Feeny Cup: Rendon Cup

Unison qualified for the final stage of the Feeny Cup by beating Rainhill Victoria (Liverpool) 52-49. The third team in their group withdrew.

All three teams won one match and lost one match, but Greyhound lost out on points difference in their group.

Colly Wobblers unluckily lost both matches in their group, by one point and two points.

Ormskirk Tennis Club also lost out on points difference in their group in the Rendon Cup where each team won one match.

Feeny Cup: Rendon Cup

Colly Wobblers, Unison and Greyhound will represent the league in the Feeny Cup on Wednesday in a round-robin group format. Greyhound will entertain Wings from Southport&Formby and Oxton Cons from Wirral starting at 8 30. Spectators can expect to see a high standard of quiz playing.

Ormskirk Tennis Club represent the league in the Rendon Cup for Division 2 teams.

The group winners in each cup meet on April 27th in Warrington.
