Despite 18 points from Francis Sephton, Abbey Sinners lost to Whippet for whom Gordon Richards scored 15.

I am sad to report that Tony passed away in the early hours of Wednesday. He was in his mid 60s.
He had a kidney removed earlier this year and recently underwent a course of radiotherapy.
Tony was very proud of his London and Italian heritage, moving to Liverpool to train as a teacher at Christ's College. He spent his entire career at Maricourt School in Maghull, becoming a Governor when he retired.
He started playing quiz in the Northern League before joining the large squad at the Ropers Arms in Ormskirk in the 1980s. He became team secretary in 1997, continuing in this role when they moved to the Greyhound.
Tony led a pilgrimage for handicapped children each Easter to Lourdes for HCPT. Do have a look at their Facebook page and this page as well.
The funeral will be in London on Saturday September 10th.
