With two weeks to go the Division One title is between Unison and Greyhound who play each other next week. The battle for the fifth and final place in mini-league 1A is between Rugby Hounds and Robin Hood, who play this week, and Whippet.
In Division Two there are three contenders for the title, Ormskirk Tennis Club, Gang of Four and Abbey Saints. Fifth place is between Parbold Exiles, Ormskirk Theatre Company and Legion Lions, who have a game in hand. Exiles and Lions play each other next week.
The Handicap League title is between Newburgh Lions and Whippet who play each other next week.
The mini-leagues begin on February 20 with all teams starting on zero.

Division 1:- Unison stay top in spite of losing to Helenians, who recorded their third win out of four. Greyhound remain second after their win over Abbey Sinners; the leading scorers were John Wilson (Greyhound) and Bill Gerrard (Abbey Sinners) with 18 points each. Despite 18 from Jim Maloney, Newburgh Lions lost narrowly to Colly Wobblers. Rugby Hounds, for whom David Hodgson scored 20, had a comfortable win over Squigglers. In the other game Whippet lost to Robin Hood
Division 2:- A massive 29 points from Paul Prior ensured Ormskirk Tennis Club’s win over Legion Lions for whom Steve Garrett scored 21; the Tennis Club remain top. Despite only having three players Gang of Four overcame Aughton Institute; Rob Jones (16) and Eric Moore (17) led the scoring for the Gang of Three! In the other games OCC beat Parbold Exiles, Ormskirk Farmers beat Ormskirk Theatre Company and Benchwarmers, for whom Mike Wall scored 16, lost to Abbey Saints.

Ormskirk lost to Liverpool by 32 points to 43. The final match is next month against champions-elect Southport & Formby.

Division 1:- Unison keep top spot after their win over Abbey Sinners; Darren Martin topped the scoring with 16 points for Unison. Greyhound are second despite losing narrowly to Rugby Hounds; David Hodgson (18) and Colin MacDonald (16) were Rugby Hounds main contributors while Mal Collier (15) and Ritchie Venner (16) replied for Greyhound. 22 points from Jim Maloney and 18 from Colin Shaw ensured Newburgh Lions’ a comfortable victory over Helenians. Despite 19 points from Janet Crompton, Squigglers lost narrowly to Whippet for whom Debbie Davidson scored 17. In the other game Robin Hood lost to Colly Wobblers for whom Mike Unsworth scored 16.
Division 2:- Ormskirk Tennis Club move to the top after their win over Benchwarmers; Paul Prior (19) and Sarah Lawton (15) led the scoring for the Tennis Club while Mark Taylor replied with 15 for Benchwarmers. Despite 15 points from Matt Cochrane, Gang of Four lost to Legion Lions for whom Steve Garrett scored 19. Parbold Exiles, thanks to 18 from Jim Dawber, beat Abbey Saints. 19 points from Alan Thompson was enough for Ormskirk Theatre Company to overcome OCC. Aughton Institute, thanks to 16 from John Hesketh, beat Ormskirk Farmers.
