Benchwarmers began with an 8 point start on Ormskirk Theatre Company but lost by 5; Gordon Richards (17) and Ian Bakewell (12) top scored for the winners, while Rob Green added 17 to Benchwarmers score. Rugby Hounds and Delph Tavern began on equal handicaps but Rugby Hounds ran out eventual winners, thanks to 16 points from Eric Lupton and 14 from David Hodgson; leading scorers for the Delph were Paul McAteer (15) and Tom Evans (13). Colly Wobblers, for whom Steve Feller and Andy McGowan both scored 13, overcame a 2 point deficit to beat Turks Head Saints by 7; Barbara Flaherty scored 13 for the Saints. Scarecrows, thanks to 17 points from Janet Crompton, started with a 12 point start on Turks Head Sinners, and held on to win by 3; Bill Gerrard and Dave Waddilove both scored 15 for the Sinners. Newburgh Lions managed to overhaul Hayfield Gang’s 25 point start to win by 5; Darren Martin (19) and Jim Maloney and Gareth Flynn 15 each, top scored for the winners, while Matt Cochrane added 12 to the Gang’s score. Greyhound had a 16 points deficit on Helenians which they clawed back after 5 rounds and in the end won by 19; Brian Farrimond (18), Ritchie Venner (15) and John Wilson top scored for the winners, while Alf Westwell scored 12 for Helenians.
