In the semifinal Unison beat Colly Wobblers 45-42 with Charles Johnson scoring 22 points for the victors. They will meet Rainhill Victoria from Liverpool in the final in May.

Highlights Week 21

Division 1:-Colly Wobblers remain top after their win over Robin Hood; Pat Gibson scored 18 for the winners and Sue Perks 15 for Robin Hood. Unison stay second after a comfortable win over Abbey Sinners; Darren Martin (21) and Alan Gibbs (16) led the scoring for Unison while Bill Gerrard scored 15 for Abbey Sinners. Greyhound stay third on points difference after beating Abbey Saints; John Wilson contributed 22 to Greyhound’s score. Despite 20 points from David Hodgson Rugby Hounds lost narrowly to Helenians.

Division 2:- Ormskirk  Tennis Club remain second after their win over Red Lion Bulldogs, Paul Prior scoring 22 for the winners. Gang of Four beat Ormskirk Farmers and remain in third place. Rob Green’s remarkable 24 points (out of 30) enabled Benchwarmers’ victory over Parbold Exiles. In the other game OCC overcame Aughton Institute.

Presentation Night

Due to the rearranging of matches to March 21st and to enable the knockout to run to its traditional format the Presentation Night will now take place at the Unison Club in St Helens on Monday May 9th.

Highlights Week 20

Division 1:- Only one of the Monday fixtures was played. In that game Rugby Hounds beat Robin Hood thanks to 15 from Eric Lupton and 16 from David Hodgson. In a close game Colly Wobblers overcame Greyhound; Pat Gibson scored 15 for the winners and John Wilson (19) and Tony Grieco (15) led the scoring for the losing team.

Division 2:- An impressive 22 points from John Hesketh greatly helped Aughton Institute record a much needed win over a depleted Ormskirk Farmers team. Ormskirk Tennis Club had a comfortable victory over Benchwarmers, Paul Prior scoring 19 for the winners.    In the other game Gang of Four beat Parbold Exiles.

With just a few matches remaining it is still very close at the top of both divisions with three teams in contention in each.

Don Liptrot Trophy

An entry window is now open for the Don Liptrot Trophy which is played using a handicap system. Old teams, new teams, hybrid teams are all welcome. The window will close on Sunday.
